Paris museum Les Arts Décoratifs will present the first exhibition ever made about the contemporary history of fashion. The exhibition, which name is “Histoire idéal de la mode contemporaine vol.I: 70-80” includes the 70’s and the 80’s period, starts April 1st and ends October 10th.
The list of designers who will be attending the museum is large and includes names like Sonia Rykiel, Karl Lagerfeld, Cacharel, Kenzo, Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier and so on and so on.
This exhibiton pretends to tell the history of the fashion made year after year, collection after collection, creator after creator, label after label. Starting with Yves Saint Laurent in 1971 and the creation of the designer” concept, the story continues with the reinvention of the female image, the challenge of principles, the first links between fashion and art and a list of significant events that does not end here.
When I read about this, I almost didn”t believe that this will be the first exposition ever about the history of fashion!
