Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Day 2 (September 10)

And it seems like we’re floating again…

BCBG Max Azria

BCBG’s show started with a succession of sheer (the most used fabric) white dresses. Floating and airy silhouettes were everywhere, whether in sober colors, like black and gray or splashes of orange and mustard yellow. Lace was also seen, such as embroidery.

Not new the minimalism presented, because it is already a feature of the label.

I couldn’t stop staring at this collection. It’s amazing how polished the pieces are. Love the shiny fabrics, the elegance of draped dresses, the green and the purple, even in total looks. There were also many patterns and asymmetrical dresses.

Nicole Miller

To me, this collection was a bit boring…it is much of the same: minimal looks, sheers, long blazers, long skirts, long dresses. What I felt most was the lack of a wow factor.

I guess at the end of day two, we could easily say that new trends for Spring are being revealed  from show to show. To retain:

– satin and sheer fabrics;

– floating and airy clothes;

– draped pieces, especially dresses;

– minimal.
