After a few years presenting only men’s collections only (since 2004 that Ford does not present a women’s wear line), Tom Ford has presented his Women Spring/Summer 2011 collection. However, this time, the designer decided to keep his show private and aside from the curious eyes. Only one photographer was present and the invitations were very restricted.
As for the models, there were few. Ford designed a collection for real women and that’s the kind of women he chose to be on the runway: women with curves, sometimes aged above average.
To me, I believe this is a serious case of marketing. What else could be better publicity than thousands of people curious to see your line?
As for us, those will probably be the only pictures we’ll see until January, when the clothes will be available.
