No,even though they really look like so, these four pictures do not belong to the same editorial. The 1st and the 3rd ones were taken for W‘s September issue editorial “Transformers”; the 2nd and the 4th, for Vogue Italy August “Day and Night”. Besides the appearance, what else do they have in common? The fact that they were both shoot by Steven Meisel.
These two editorials have been involved in a big controversy the past few days, because the photographer knew about the theme and similarities between the two photo shoots, but he didn’t inform W (the first shoot was for Vogue) about the fact.
Where do we go from here? Was this a lack of professionalism from the photographer or excess of ethics and respect for secrecy rules?
