Details matter, such as the little things in life. Not sure if it’s the sun or the warm weather, but I’m feeling really good today, so I thought I should share a few of my favorite pictures taken last week.

Some of you might have already heard about peplum shilhouettes, very trendy during the New Look at the 40′s. The news are: it is back for the next Spring/Summer season. Designers like Zac Posen, Yves Saint Laurent and Celine decided to recover the trend and we got to love the idea.

Peplum jackets and tops must be worn with tight skirts, as seen in Jason Wu (picture above) for an elegant look or skinny trousers, for a romantic, but still modern look (as per bellow on WWD’s editorial).

Mary Katrantzou has just won her own category on my blog. I already like her collections especially due to the unexpected and colorful patterns she uses to paint her dresses, but this new has just made my day. The designer conceived a capsule collection for Topshop‘s Spring/Summer, that will be out during February. Everyone will now be able to have a piece from the Greek designer.

- What led you to start a blog? / O que te levou a começar o blog?
I have always loved fashion and photography. I think fashion came first, because I have always been interested for it, since I was young and, since I already knew fashion blogs, I thought I could do the same in Braga. This way I gathered two of my passions.
Sempre gostei muito de moda/fotografia. Acho que o que surgiu primeiro foi a moda, sempre me interessei por tudo o que estava relacionado com isso, desde pequenino e como já conhecia blogs do género, pensei que poderia fazer o mesmo em Braga. Assim juntei duas paixões.
- How do people react when you ask them to pose for your camera? /Como reagem as pessoas quando as abordas na rua para posarem?
They have many reactions. They get shy, which is normal, they feel flattered, vain…
Têm reacções muito variadas, ficam tímidas, o que é normal, sentem-se lisonjeadas, vaidosas…
- Who do you think is easier to convince? Women or men? / Quem é mais fácil de convencer? Os homens ou as mulheres?
Both. Women are always more predisposed for fashion but, on the other hand, men are more direct, more practical.
Os dois. As mulheres são sempre mais predispostas para a moda, mas o homem, por outro lado, é mais direto, mais prático.
- What was the most funnier situation while asking someone to pose? Did anyone ever had a bad reaction? / Qual a situação mais engraçada durante abordagem? Alguma vez alguém reagiu mal?
No, not bad. They say they are not in the mood or they don’t want, but usually because they are shy for being in the street.
Não, mal não. Já disseram que não estão com vontade ou que não apetece, mas quase sempre mais por timidez, por estarem na rua.
- What’s the feedback you have, when people look at their pictures on your blog? / Qual é o feedback das pessoas, quando se vêem no blog?
It’s positive. They show the pictures to their relatives, their friends. They say it is good to break the monotony and makes their ego grow.
É positivo. Mostram as fotos à família, aos amigos. Dizem que lhes quebra a monotonia e aumenta-lhes o ego.

- What is your working method? / Qual é o teu método de trabalho?
Sometimes I go out in the morning and walk around the streets. Sometimes I come during the afternoon – the sunset has the best light – and I photograph several looks that I post later. I don’t have a specific date to post, I’m a little uncertain. At the end of the day, I come home, select a few pictures (which is not easy since I always take lots), edit, write a little text and then I publish.
Since I also work as a freelancer, it gets a little intense sometimes. I always have something to do.
Por vezes saio de manhã, dou uma volta pela rua – uma não, várias. Outras vezes venho de tarde – o fim da tarde tem a melhor luz – e fotografo vários looks que posto em dias diferentes. Não tenho datas para postar, é um bocado incerto. Ao final do dia chego a casa, seleciono as fotos (o que não é fácil, uma vez que tiro sempre muitas), retoco, faço um texto e publico.
Como também sou freelancer, por vezes torna-se demasiado intenso. Tenho sempre o que fazer.

- What do you like to read?/ O que gostas de ler?
Magazines! I always buy Numéro and WAD (which is more urban) and Vogue Paris or Italy, which are my favorites. I read a lot to find new ideas and I also browse a lot of blogs.
Revistas! Compro muitas vezes Numéro, a WAD (que é uma revista mais urbana) e a Vogue Paris ou Itália, que são as minhas preferidas. Leio bastante, para encontrar ideias e também consulto muitos blogs.
- Do you have any favorite model? /Tens alguma modelo de eleição?
I have several, but I have also found lots of good looking women in Braga.
There are bloggers I think are really worth photographing. There is a blogger I think has a really cool style, her name is Miroslava Duma. I would love to photograph her.
Tenho várias, mas também tenho apanhado muita gente com bom aspeto em Braga.
Há muitas bloggers que acho que valem a pena fotografar. Há uma blogger que eu acho que tem um estilo muito giro, chama-se Miroslava Duma. Adorava fotografá-la.
- Can we say that you prefer street style rather than studio photography? /Podemos dizer que preferes o street style à fotografia em estúdio?
The trends are on the streets and that is where everything happens. In studio, the environment is more controlled. Street style is my base. I like to catch people when they are unaware on the streets.
É na rua que estão as tendências e onde tudo acontece. No estúdio o ambiente é mais controlado. O street style é a minha base. Dá-me mais gosto apanhar as pessoas desprevenidas na rua.
-You find two girls on the street. What makes you choose one over another? What makes you want to photograph? /Tens duas raparigas na rua. O que te leva a fotografar uma em detrimento de outra? O que te impele a fotografar?
I photograph both. Each person has a different style. Fashion is personality, I do not search for trends, but style – that is the essence of fashion. We should dare everything, create, not only follow rules or be stuck to the same things. You can wear the trends but, if you lack attitude, then there is no chemistry. Sometimes, the way you hold a cigarette, the way you grab your hat… It has to be a part of you and sometimes even a face is enough to draw the attention.
Fotografo as duas. Cada pessoa tem um estilo diferente. A moda é personalidade, eu não procuro tendências, mas estilo – é isso a essência da moda. Devemos ousar tudo, criar, não seguir regras e nem estar sempre preso às mesmas coisas. Pode-se estar a vestir as últimas tendências, mas se faltar atitude, não há química. Por vezes a forma de pegar no cigarro, de arranjar o chapéu… Tem k fazer parte da pessoa e por vezes um rosto até é o suficiente para chamar a atenção.
- So far, which was the person you liked to photograph the most and why? What do you like to photograph? /Até agora, qual foi a pessoa que mais gostaste de fotografar e por quê? – O que te dá mais gozo fotografar?
So many! Once I photographed a Russian girl (Helen), she had a natural charisma and beauty. It was in a foggy day, she looked like an oasis. She had a long skirt flowing with the wind and red hair, I was fascinated. It was one of the most striking photos for me.
I also loved photographing Mr.Fernando and Catarina, who is always ready and interacts very well with the camera. Oh, I also like to photograph Cindy, who has a very Parisian style.
Tantas! Uma vez fotografei uma rapariga russa (Helen), tinha um carisma natural e uma beleza muito próprias. Foi num dia nublado, parecia uma miragem. Tinha uma saia comprida a esvoaçar e uns cabelos ruivos, eu fiquei fascinado. Foi uma das fotos mais marcantes.
Também gostei muito de fotografar o Sr. Fernando e a Catarina, que está sempre pronta e interage bem com a câmara. Ah, também gosto de fotografar a Cindy, que tem um estilo muito parisiense.
-What’s you favorite set to photograph? / Qual o teu cenário preferido para fotografar?
I love the morning Light (from 7AM to 12AM) and also the sunset. My favorite set? Braga. I love sets from streets with old architecture, but I also like modernism and urban.
Adoro a luz da manhã (7h às 12h), e também o fim de tarde. O meu fundo preferido? Braga. Gosto de cenários com arquitectura mais antiga das ruelas. Mas também gosto do moderno, do urbano.
My blog is a white canvas, with Braga as background and stylish people moving on it.
O blog é uma tela branca, tenho a cidade de Braga a preenche-la como fundo e com pessoas com estilo a movimentar-se.
- How do you see yourself and the blog in a few years? Como te imaginas a ti e ao blog dentro de alguns anos?
I don’t know about the blog…This has been an adventure. Such as with photography, I like the unexpected. For now I want to win the Fashion Blogger Awards. I am a nominee and I would love to win. Of course I would also love to photograph for Vogue. I would love to see my pictures published on Vogue, even the Portuguese one.
I willl keep doing this for a long time, because this is what I want.
I would also love to explore new cities: Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Paris… Parisian women have a very unique style, easily distinguishable; New York is the city of my dreams – I love movement and there is no other city with more movement, more variety and more styles than this one.
Quanto ao blog, não sei…Tem sido uma aventura. Tal como na fotografia, gosto mais do inesperado. Para já tenho o projecto de ganhar o Fashion Blogger Awards. Fui nomeado e adorava ganhar. Obviamente que gostava de fotografar para a Vogue. Ia gostar de ver fotos minhas publicadas na Vogue mesmo que fosse a portuguesa.
Eu vou continuar a querer fazer isto durante muito tempo, porque é isto que eu quero.
Gostava também de explorar mais sítios: Madrid; Barcelona, Milão, Paris…As parisienses têm um estilo muito próprio, fácil distinguir; Nova Iorque é a cidade dos meus sonhos – adoro movimento e não há nenhuma cidade com mais do que esta, com mais variedade de estilos e de pessoas.
Harriet Quick described Miu Miu‘s Spring/Summer 2012 collection as a“ [...] really hilarious psycho drama. It was Kristen Stewart in Twilight meets Wednesday Addams meets Carrie – real B-movie, teenage vampires.”, Vogue UK speaks about a even younger vibe in the clothes and Little Red Riding Hood, but how can we describe these handbags?
Definitely a must for the next season and I’m pretty sure we will be seeing many it-girls carrying one.

For those who still have doubts about the elegance of Gossip Girl’s star, Blake Lively, these pictures are the end of the line. Her style has been changing and Blake is now a mature women, which reflects in the way she dresses. She paired her Louboutins with a pink trench and her messy hair that makes her style look very natural, though chic. Thumbs up for miss Lively!
